Education
MIPCA runs an active educational programme for its members. Specific topics relevant to primary care practice are discussed at advisory boards of members and the results are disseminated via:
- A review article published in a peer-reviewed journal.
- A newsletter that is distributed to all MIPCA members.
- A slide set designed for educational use.
The aim is to provide guidance that is based on up-to-date clinical evidence and on best practice. In the last four years, the following topics have been addressed:
- The importance of assessing the impact of headache on patients’ daily lives.
- Tailoring care to the needs of the individual patient.
- Providing guidelines for nurses.
- Providing guidelines for patients.
- Managing children with headache.
- How to evaluate clinical trial evidence.
- Addressing relevant issues in the new GP contract.
- Providing guidelines for pharmacists.
